Hamburgers, Cheetos, and Burritos

If you follow the blog many of you know that the fire service called. With the acceptance of a life changing career there’s no better time to hone my eating habits. I’m nowhere near in shape. Over the last ten years I’ve put together a perfectly round face, and a disappointing beer belly. I currently weigh in at 237 pounds. According to the body mass index this puts me in the obese range. I starting seeking out information about weight loss and eating habits.

My search for answers led me to an episode produced by the guys at the FoamFrat Podcast. They ask the question “Why Do We Gain Weight?” This episode was filled with interesting analogies and science explaining why we gain weight. It was an eye opener and offered me a starting point. Before the podcast I was that guy. Counting calories in and out. I thought if I was running a deficit I’d lose weight.

As I start my eating and fitness journey I’ve already applied some of the principles outlined in the podcast. Give it a listen, It’s a game changer.
